Advanced E-Learning Instructional Design Certificate
January 26-27, 2009
This certificate program redirects and narrows the focus of instructional design to those things that matter most in creating successful e-learning: effective ways to design meaningful, memorable, and motivational experiences, while blending in successful behavioral change principles. Based on dozens of research studies, these principles will help you design learning events that go far beyond the transmission of information to achieve behavioral change and targeted performance levels. Learn to counter change inhibitors, design pre-instructional events, blend formal and informal learning, use techniques for performance change, create performance aids, and space learning events. This popular program was developed in partnership with Allen Interactions and is based on the second book in Michael Allen’s E-Learning Library: Designing Successful E-Learning: Forget What You Know About Instructional Design and Do Something Interesting.

The CPLP™ Prep Workshop
January 26-27, 2009
The CPLP™ Prep Workshop is a two-day workshop that is the perfect starting point for preparing for both the knowledge based CPLP exam and the all-important work product submission. It’s important to prepare for both components of the CPLP credentialing process – not just the knowledge-based exam -- so ASTD created this workshop to help participants fully understand the criteria for their work. It is designed to give a high-level review of the nine areas of expertise from the ASTD Competency Model, help identify areas where further study is needed, enhance test-taking skills, and show how to prepare the required work product for submission. Through exclusive samples of successful work products and 250 assessment questions, this workshop will bolster exam-day and work product preparation confidence (but is not meant to serve as a substitute for full preparation).
